Calgary, our day is mild. The snow is melting, albeit not as fast as I want. But it is going, flake by watery flake.

Happy St. Patrick's Day. We wore green.

Last night's bedtime dialogue:

Well, why celebrate the day if we don't get the day off school?
--grumpy boy.
We're not really celebrating the day, we just.... --Mom, still
calm at this point
We're just acknowledging St. Patrick. --pipes in older
sister.
Amazingly this seemed to appease the grumps, Mom stayed calm and older sister felt smugly justified, or is that justifiably smug? At least everyone went to sleep happy.

And today the cat nearly caught a mouse. (Don't worry, Mom, we set some traps. I won't tell you where the mouse popped up....)

Monday morning has dawned with a spring in the air. Feels like Capernwray. So it's supposed to get colder again this week, at least today some snow is melting.

We lost our mailbox to the plow yesterday. Hopefully Si the Pie can bang it back into a semblance of shape. In the meantime we have a substitute....

The kids are up and playing hockey in the kitchen. Should I be thankful that they're no longer letting the ball fly around the living room? Perhaps today is a good day to "take advantage" of the good weather outside.
